Our Pastor
Martin (Marty) Vogel was born in Orono, Ontario (Canada). After becoming a Certified General Carpenter, he entered seminary with a desire to receive a theological education with a view to service in God's Kingdom. He was subsequently ordained to the ministry and served Living Water Reformed Church in Brantford Ontario (URCNA) for 15 years and Covenant Christian Church of Wyoming (URCNA) for 13 years. He then joined us here at Bethel at the beginning of January of 2023.
Married on August 22, 1987, Pastor Vogel and his wife, Irene, have since been blessed with nine children, five of which are now married. They also greatly enjoy their 23 grandchildren and pray that God will give to each of the the gift of saving faith and use them for His glory and the growth of His church. It is our Pastor's desire to preach the God-exalting, soul-saving gospel of Jesus Christ and "to equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Ephesians 4:12) so that our church family will continue to faithfully, joyfully, and lovingly fulfill our calling by reaching upward in worship, inward in fellowship, and outward in evangelism. it is both our duty and privilege to proclaim and live the gospel which is "the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).
"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: peach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching." (2 Timothy 4:1-2)

Our Elders and Deacons
Seeking to follow the Biblical model, our church is led by a plurality of elders and deacons, under Christ the only Head of the church. The elders are under-shepherd called to govern the church according to the Word of God and to care for the spiritual needs of the members of the congregation. Their work consists of continuing in prayer and ruling the church of Christ with a view to purity of doctrine and holiness of life (see our URCNA church order, Article 14). they strive to visit the members of the congregation according to their needs, to exercise loving discipline, to actively promote the work of evangelism and missions, and to ensure that the preaching remains faithful to the Word of God.
The deacons reveal the commission of Christ as they carry out the work of mercy ministry within the congregation and care for the needs that arise due to such things as illness, unemployment, hardships, and distress. The deacons try to acquaint themselves with congregational needs, encourage members of the congregation to show mercy, and bring comfort and hope with the Word of God. Our deacons also keep up contact with the many outreach and service organizations that we contribute to so that our charitable giving is directed with integrity to places of need and gospel proclamation.
"Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." (Acts 20:28)
